Jan Jedlinsky

Jan Jedlinsky has been a member of the Columbus Museum of Art's Beaux Arts Auxiliary Board and has been involved in helping to raise funds for the Museum's children's program for the past 3 years.

The Auxiliary's two big fundraisers are Art in Bloom in the spring and Red, Wine & Bloom in the summer.

Art in Bloom is a three-day fundraising event featuring sixty floral interpretations of art from the Museum's permanent collection created by garden club members and regional floral designers.

Red, Wine & Bloom Wine Tasting is a fundraiser held in the Russell Page Sculpture Garden at the Museum. Guest enjoys wine by the Ohio Wine Producers Association and sample food from Columbus' finest restaurants and caterers.

Through the Auxiliary, Jan helps to plan both events -- selecting museum artworks, interviewing and selecting florists to create the floral presentations for Art in Bloom, and working with Ohio Wine Producers Association and area restaurants and caterers for Red, Wine & Bloom.

Jan says, "I became involved with the Columbus Museum of Art because of my three sons. They are all very artistic and were all involved in the programs held at the Museum. My oldest and middle sons both have art degrees and my third son is leaning toward art design, with an interest in architecture. I was also personally interested in French art. As a former teacher, I am an advocate for anything that promotes the creativity of children. As a real estate agent, I feel each home I show is a large work of art.I just believe in giving back to the community and volunteering at the Museum seemed like a good way to do it."
