REALTORS® have full access to their photos on all MLS listings on the Tempo system. They can upload photos to their listing, change the order in which they are displayed, delete photos, and add comments to photos. When an agent wants to replace a photo, they can take a new one with a digital camera (125K size limit), save it to their computer, and upload the new photo to Tempo in just minutes. Do not forget that all photos, including replacement photos must be set as the primary photo, or they will not appear as the main photo on reports, in the book, or on Realtor.com. When 35mm prints are sent by mail, CBR staff will scan and upload the photo to Tempo the same day they are received and processed. Since all scanning must be completed before 5pm, photos dropped off late may not be scanned until the following day. After scanning and uploading, the agent can then log onto the media page in Tempo and manipulate the photos as described above. A word regarding replacement 35mm prints sent to CBR: CBR staff will scan and upload photos that are intended as replacement photos daily. However, please note that a replacement photo will not automatically be set as primary. REALTORS® are encouraged to review the photos for their listings to be certain they are correct and appear in the order they prefer. Of course, with your instructions, MLS can help arrange your listing photos in the order you choose or you are welcome to simply point and click your mouse on the CBR MLS TEMPO system to create the proper photo display order in an instant at your convenience day or night... it’s really that easy and it’s all free. A replacement photo can be set as primary when it becomes available on TEMPO usually within 24 hours after arriving at CBR. Please see TO SET PRIMARY and TO CHANGE PHOTO DISPLAY ORDER in this article for more detail on this routine. Digital camera photos are the best, most efficient, and most readily accessible format for photos on the CBR Tempo MLS system. Remember to set your digital camera to low resolution before you take your MLS photos. Low resolution on your camera will still provide more than enough definition and clarity than is necessary for any website, such as Tempo. If you shoot in high resolution, you may have problems uploading your photos (more about this in the photo tips section of this article!) 35mm prints must either be scanned by the agent then uploaded to Tempo, or sent by mail to the Board, then processed, scanned, and uploaded by staff. Even in the best scenario, 35mm prints will take one day to a week longer to appear on Tempo than a digital camera jpeg image that is uploaded directly by the agent! Digital camera photos can be taken, immediately saved to a computer, and uploaded as soon as you have access to an Internet connection. Don’t forget to set the primary photo! After the primary is set, the jpeg you uploaded from your digital camera is immediately available. Go digital if you want fast, quality, and much cheaper photos for your listings. by Matt Warren, CBR Systems Analyst and Technical Trainer | | FILE SIZE There is a file size limit for digital pictures that can be uploaded to Tempo. Each file (photo) must be under 125K in order to be accepted by Tempo. You can find the size of the photo by RIGHT-CLICKING on the icon of the photo, then click PROPERTIES. Large files, particularly over 300K may cause the system to hang, or the upload process to fail. Please shoot digital camera photos in LOW RESOLUTION mode, or you will have to use the software that came with your camera to reduce the resolution of the photo PRIOR to uploading to Tempo. The recommended size(dimensions) of digital photos for Tempo is 640x480 pixels. This size should take you well below the maximum acceptable file size of 125K. Unfortunately, we are not able to support the many different photo manipulation software packages that members may be using. If you shoot or scan your photos at HIGH RESOLUTION, you will need to open the photo software (Photoshop, Photopaint, Photo Editor, etc.) and reduce the resolution prior to upload. DIRECT UPLOAD OF DIGITAL PHOTOS: Photos can be added to a listing by going to My Page > Add/Edit > View listing by MLS # > Edit Media. Select all photos to be added and click the “Submit” button at the bottom. After upload, your photo must be SET AS PRIMARY in the “edit media” window. If it is not set as primary, it will not show up on the reports or in the book.
