Hello, and welcome to our first article on technology tools and tips! You can look forward to reading about the products and ideas that can help you make more money, allow you more freedom, create systems for better communication, and be more productive in what you choose to do.
That's a big list! Our Technology Panel and Technology Committee will be very busy this year reviewing new hardware, software, services, and ideas, and then post the information on our CBR website, as well as write a review and place it in our monthly magazine, In Contract.
We will focus on three types of REALTORS®:
- First, the needs of a REALTOR® who primarily works out of an office -- the Office Realtor who uses desktop computers, land line phones, and has clients come to a central location.
- Second, the REALTOR® who is mostly out of the office -- the Mobile REALTOR® who is predominately working from a vehicle using a laptop computer and a cell phone, and meets clients at various locations.
- Third, The Virtual REALTOR®, who has no "bricks and mortar" office, who may or may not meet the client, but conducts business almost totally through the internet from introductions to closing.
These three REALTOR® types have very different business models, requiring their own unique tools to be successful.
In addition, we are planning to hold some open forums at lunchtime for the general membership to attend. We will discuss e-marketing, taught by Michael Zelnik, who many consider to be one of our most successful REALTORS® using the internet today.
Creating a web site is an important tool for any REALTOR®, and will be another popular discussion topic we will bring to CBR later this year and be open to all of you. Continuing education credit may be available at these luncheons as well.
We will start our year reviewing one of the most used tools -- cell phones.
Look for our article next month. I hope you enjoy reading the articles throughout the year as we make the effort to bring you information that is useful and meaningful to you.
