Meet your New Directors...
CBR has seven members newly elected or appointed to serve on the 2004 Board of Directors.  Here’s some background information you may not get from the typical resume.

Brad Bennett

Born & Raised: born-Wilmington, Delaware raised-Columbus
Family: spouse-Linda; 3 sons-David (Kate); Adam (Andria); Seth (University of Kentucky)
Current residence area: Upper Arlington 32 years                        
# Years with current broker: REALTOR®-32 years; HER-18 years
In school my teachers thought I was: adorable, of course
If I couldn’t be a REALTOR® I’d be: a farmer like my Grandfather
I received my real estate license in: 1971 (salesman) 1974 (broker)
Designations I hold are: CRB - Certified Residential Broker and RIS - Real Estate Investment Specialist 
When I’m not working, I enjoy: boating, golfing, fishing and hunting
My favorite get-away is: Collins Inlet, Ontario, Canada
I have a weakness for: standardbred racing, vintage ragtops
Most bizarre thing that has happened to me: Do you have an hour???
My pet peeves are: those who criticize CBR or CORPAC and give nothing of their time and resources!
My favorite saying is: “If we aren’t going to have a good time, I am not going!”
 One person I’d really like to meet is: Thomas Triplett, my great, great, great, great, great Grandfather
The most important tool for me to succeed is: a sense of humor
I enjoy the real estate industry because: doing the job right will enhance the lives of our clients.

Mar’ Hartley

Born & Raised: Born in Zanesville, Ohio and raised in Lancaster, Ohio
Family: Married to Phil Stanley for 25 years – Gave birth to Alan & Andrew Hartley and raised Kim, Scott & Nicole Stanley
Current residence area: Fredericktown, Ohio
# Years with current broker: 12 years
In school my teachers thought I was: a team player – I still am.
If I couldn’t be a REALTOR® I’d be: Well, I minored in psychology – so working with people is real interesting – I’d always be in the people business.
But once I was: an HR (Human Resources Director) but down deep I really wanted to be an Interior Designer 
I received my real estate license in: 1988
Designations I hold are: GRI, RRS, RIS, E-Agent
When I’m not working, I enjoy: anything out doors – We have 20 acres (mostly wooded) so I love to ride our Massy Ferguson Tractor. If indoors I’m reading or watching sports.
My favorite get-away: for sightseeing is the East Coast. For relaxing, it’s Lake Cumberland on a houseboat.
I have a weakness for: my twelve Grandkids
My pet peeve(s) is: people without manners, especially REALTORS® who accept calls on their cell phone in a closing and don’t ask to be excused. 
My favorite saying is: “What’s fair for one is fair for all.”
What surprises people most about me are: two things 1) I’m only five feet tall. 2) What’s under my hat – I have long blond hair.
Most people don’t know that: I love sports
One person I’d really like to meet is: The Pope
The most important tool for me to succeed is: my husband – he’s my rock
I enjoy the real estate industry because: even thought I work 24/7 – it’s my 24/7

Patt Hummer

Family: Three married children, 6 grandchildren living in Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Dublin

# Years with current broker: 25 years
In school my teachers thought I was: sweet, quiet, ladylike (had them fooled)
If I couldn’t be a REALTOR® I’d be: a school teacher
But once I was: a waitress for 17 minutes and was fired
I received my real estate license in: 1973
Designations I hold are: CRS, GRI, LTG
When I’m not working, I enjoy: antique browsing, traveling, gardening
My favorite get-away is: Sea Pines at Hilton Head
I have a weakness for: my grandchildren
Most bizarre thing that has happened to me was: tripping over and out of a canoe and having every rescue person and vehicle in Indiana looking for me for 5 hours while I sat on a sand bar waiting for them to find me.
My favorite saying is: “It it’s going to be, its up to me.”
What surprises people most about me is: how quiet I am when I’m angry.
Most people don’t know that I: won blue ribbons in flower arranging at the Ohio State Fair.
My community interests are: Historic Livingston House, Reynoldsburg Visitors Bureau and the Reynoldsburg Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce.
The most important tool for me to succeed is: developing new skills, but keeping old values.
I enjoy the real estate industry because: it’s a caring industry. You can make such a difference in someone’s life.

Sandy Schupp, CRS, GRI, LTG

Born & Raised: Born in Salem Hospital, Mass (yes I am a Salem Witch and I tell my clients that and to beware), and raised in Madeira, a suburb of Cincinnati, UC graduate
Family: My oldest daughter Stephanie is a teacher in Marysville and a HS girls’ tennis coach. My son Herb Jr. is my partner and the father of Sydney (my clone, heaven help us) and Chloe, wife Lori. Stuart is my youngest and the father of Ava and Ian (the new man in my life and for his father, what is the saying about paybacks....), wife Susan.  Three beautiful people who have given me four more loves in my life.
Current residence area: Worthington resident for the 5th time.
# Years with the current broker: 23 years in the business and 23 years with the same broker
In school my teachers thought: I was bubbly, helpful, sweet and a nice personality (according to my yearbooks)
But once I thought I wanted to be:  a Physical Education teacher. I was very active in sports in school and helped coach and teach Physical Ed classes, but I got married instead of becoming a Physical Ed teacher.
Designation(s) I hold are: LTG, CRS, GRI, RRS and member of Omega Tau Rho.
If I couldn’t be a REALTOR®, I’d be: RETIRED!
When I’m not working, I enjoy: golf, reading and friends
My favorite get-away is: sunshine and water
I have a weakness for: art and jewelry
Most bizarre thing that has happened to me: sitting in a Paris Cafe talking with another American who knew my client, well I might add. Small world.
My pet peeve is: “users”
My favorite saying is: “Rasberries or worse”
What surprises people most about me is: that I can be quiet and enjoy serenity.
My community interests are: children’s charities.
One person I’d really like to meet is: Billy Graham. I have been in his presence and his aura is magnetic.
The most important tools for me to success are: honesty and no hidden agendas
I enjoy the real estate industry because: of the joy we bring to those with a dream

Once I thought I wanted to be: an astronaut
When not working I enjoy: family, friends, golfing, and fly fishing
My favorite get away: a golf course or a river with plenty of fish in it.
I have a weakness for: Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Most bizarre thing that has happened to me: Lasik Surgery. Lying on a table as a laser taps on your eye, then fifteen minutes later walking out of the building being able to see a license plate that before you couldn’t read from ten feet! Bizarre!!!!!
Pet Peeve: people who are not punctual.
Favorite Saying: Carpei Diem! Seize the day!!!!!!
Community Interests: Junior Achievement, local Chamber of Commerce.
Person I’d like to meet: Jack Nicholson at court side of a Lakers Game. Tell me that wouldn’t be fun!!!
Most important tool: My computer, what did we ever do without them?
I enjoy the real estate industry because: each day brings new challenges and new opportunities.

In school my teachers thought I was: hyperactive
If I couldn’t be in this industry, I’d be:  a hiking guide in the mountains. I am pretty boring this is all I have ever done. I majored in real estate and finance.
I received my real estate license in: 1977.   I was a Real Estate Major in College; however I did not ever sell I went right into the Mortgage Origination arena and released my license.
When I’m not working, I enjoy: golfing, fly fishing and skiing.
My favorite get-away is: to go to the mountains and fly fish.
I have a weakness for: Ice Cream
Most bizarre thing that has happened to me: I have many. I went Camping (pop-up) in Disney world during a Hurricane.
My pet peeve(s) is: always be positive.
My favorite saying is: “If it feels like a duck, if it sounds like a duck, if it looks like a duck, it’s a duck.”
What surprises people most about me is: I enjoy coaching, watching and playing Ice Hockey.
Most people don’t know that I’m: a country music fan
My community interests are: Upper Arlington Rotary Club, my church UALC and The Upper Arlington Boosters Club
One person I’d really like to meet is: George Bush
The most important tools for me to succeed are: integrity and honesty
I enjoy the real estate industry because: no situation is ever the same
